K.Flay is a rapper, producer from the Chicago area, and her new album “Life As A Dog” is available now on iTunes, Google Play and Amazon.

An artist who quickly evolved from parody to indie, Chicago-born rapper K. Flay first grabbed the mike while a student at Stanford University in California. It was the frivolous topics and misogynistic lyrics she saw in mainstream rap that first drove her to record a parody of the genre, but she was surprised by both her talent and how much she enjoyed recording. She spent the rest of the year recording and writing, spent her sophomore year performing, and in her junior year, she dropped her debut album, 2004's Suburban Rap Queen. Five years later, her second effort, Mashed Potatoes, appeared with backing tracks that were more electro and indie-oriented, a style that remained in place for 2011's I Stopped Caring in '96. In 2013, she made her major-label debut with the What If It Is EP on RCA.

The crowdfunded and self released album, “Life As A Dog” debuted at No. 14 on the Billboard rap charts, as well as hitting No. 2 in the Heatseekers category.

Transmissions-LIVE is partnering with DeliRadio for ongoing episodes featuring musical acts in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Transmissions-LIVE concert series will be an ongoing showcase of new and exciting acts at the following venues of The Brick & Mortar Music HallThe New Parish and Leo’s Music Club.

More about SOL Republic:
Founded in 2011, SOL REPUBLIC is a global consumer electronics company dedicated to enhancing people’s lives through better-sounding headphones and accessories. We are music fanatics who develop products from the ground up to make headphones and speakers that look, sound and feel unlike anything else in the market.

More About The Brick & Mortar Music Hall
Owners of the Brick & Mortar Music Hall (SF), New Parish (OAK) and Leo’s Music Club (OAK), The Parish Entertainment Group offers a variety of venues in Oakland’s burgeoning Uptown District, as well as in San Francisco’s desirable Mission and Hayes Valley neighborhoods.

More about DeliRadio:
Launched in 2011, DeliRadio is a 21st century rethink of what “local radio” means. Rather than play the same handful of mainstream acts, DeliRadio starts by letting you select a nearby club or festival, or simply your general vicinity. It then plays you only artists with upcoming shows, filtered by genres you select, as a station. Stations can be freely shared with anyone. And when you follow an artist, DeliRadio will automatically alert you when said artist posts new music or adds nearby concert dates in the future.

More about Transmissions-LIVE:
TRANSMISSIONS-LIVE is a live music show focusing on episodic interviews and performances with artists at their gigs in the San Francisco Bay Area. With 14 official episodes featuring the best bands at the best venues, we continue to showcase new, underground and independent acts for the true music fan. Second season launched November 2014
