"Reunited noise rockers bring new menace to their style of discordant art-metal." - Rolling Stone

"...noise-rockers Daughters have returned to the recorded arena with a bang. On their comeback single "Satan in the Wait," the hardcore of the group's past disappears in lieu of post-punk à la the Birthday Party or Christian Death — looming, lying in wait, building with tension and ferocity." - Revolver

"By far their most dynamic offering, Daughters have pulled off one of the great comeback albums and further cemented themselves as a band with such singular creativity that they're nearly peerless. It may not sound like the album you thought you wanted, but the open-minded listener might find it's precisely what was needed." 9/10 - Exclaim

New music video from WINDHAND "Red Cloud"

New music video from WINDHAND, "Red Cloud"

Check out our Q&A Interview with Windhand from our archives.

About the video:
Director and animator Zev Deans follows the exploits of a washed-up Warlock and his imbecilic Henchman as they attempt to summon The Scarlet Woman. It's saturated with the visual style of technicolor horror and blends live-action with animated scenery. "Red Cloud" is equal parts homage to and satire of the psych-horror of the 1960's, specifically the works of Jean Rollin and Roger Corman's Poe series and it's here just in time for Halloween.

"Red Cloud" is the latest single from the Windhand's highly acclaimed, Eternal Return, released earlier this month on Relapse. The album is a complete life-to-death journey. As unplanned things go, it's an observation of as well as a reflection on life's ups and downs, joys and sorrows, beginnings and ends. In recent years, WINDHANDwelcomed new life, survived lineup changes, and mourned unexpected death. The songs and song ordering are the direct result of those experiences.

WINDHAND’s 4th studio album Eternal Return is out now on CD/2xLP/CS/Digital on Relapse Records. Physical packages are available for order HERE and Digital Downloads/Streaming AT THIS LOCATION.

Eternal Return, produced by Jack Endino (Soundgarden, Nirvana), represents a new era for the group, a chrysalis moment that takes them to new and unforeseen heights. Boosted by Garrett Morris' consistently cool riffs-forged at the crossroads of Iommi's otherworldly import and Kurt Cobain's spontaneous precocity-powered by Ryan Wolfeand Parker Chandler's groove-laden rhythms, and propelled by Dorthia Cottrell's smoky yet wistful vocals, WINDHAND's new album is a two-step jump for Richmond's finest purveyors of the psycho-actively heavy.

Future Nostalgia

Praise for Future Nostalgia:

“The album is fully in the thrall of that 70s groove. Gnarly double guitar noodling ("Downtown") and soft focus drive-time goodness ("Jim Gordon"). "Take a Trip" will make you want to spark up and dance around and make out.” - Noisey

“The Sheepdogs have a bold take on classic guitar rock” – Yahoo! Music

"The Sheepdogs twist classic psychedelic rock with hints of folk and turn it into music that is pure ear candy" - Baeble Music

“[Future Nostalgia is] steeped in the classic and psychedelic rock of the 70′s but also feels like a blast of fresh sounds in a musical landscape in desperate need of (good) bands capable of writing punchy rock and roll tunes.” – Glide

“[‘Take A Trip’] has all of the hallmarks associated with monster '70s rock that ruled the music world” – Pure Volume

NEUROSIS Begins Major North American Tour

As their thirtieth anniversary creeps ever closer late in 2015, NEUROSIS will this week embark on their most massive North American tour since before the turn of the millennium, as the sixteen-city expedition kicks off tomorrow, Friday, July 31st.

The forceful aural surge of NEUROSIS will be felt through a deluge of performances which are set to take place in sixteen cities across America and Canada over the next three weeks. The quintet will punish the continent with one of their most crushing live sets to date, beginning on July 31st in Lawrence, Kansas, followed by shows in Minneapolis, Madison, Chicago, Louisville, Detroit, Toronto, Montréal, Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, Richmond, Carrboro, Atlanta and New Orleans, before coming to a smoldering finale in Houston on August 16th, the band playing to cities and states which they have not visited since the 1990s along the way.

Support for NEUROSIS will include the thunder of labelmates Brothers Of The Sonic Cloth (featuring Tad Doyle of TAD and Hog Molly) for the entire trek, with additional legs of the tour also featuring nomadic doomsday cult, The Body, expansive rock duo, Sumac (members of Baptists, Old Man Gloom, ex-Isis, etc.), doom/rock experimenters Pinkish Black and blues/rock-driven labelmates Iron Tongue. NEUROSIS will also perform at the immense Montréal Festival where they'll join the likes of Mastodon, Meshuggah, Gorguts and many others on August 7th.

Since the release of their 1987 debut LP, Pain Of Mind, NEUROSIS has increasingly developed into a more potent and prolific act with each new recording and tour. Through releases on Alchemy, Lookout!, Alternative Tentacles, Relapse, Hydra Head and more -- before forming their own Neurot Recordings which houses all of their recordings since the beginning of the millennium -- the band has become a genre-defining institution of heavy music. The Oakland, California natives have broken ground at every turn, pioneering a sound that influenced heavyweights including Isis, Mastodon and High On Fire and inspiring endless legions of fans with their expansive, mind-altering works, as well as forming their own solo outfits and touring acts outside of NEUROSIS.

In 2012, NEUROSIS released Honor Found In Decay, recorded by Steve Albini at Electrical Audio and mastered by John Golden of Golden Mastering, the album showcasing the band taking their esoteric but leveling and hymns to even further diversified areas of exploration. Following the album's hometown release show, they disbanded with the backdrop visuals that had accompanied their live set nearly since inception, empowering their anthems in a drastically more human approach. Since the album's release, NEUROSIS has been heavily proactive tour-wise, embarking on regional bouts of touring and taking part in high-profile one-off and festival events throughout North America and Europe. And the cycle shall continue through the remainder of 2015 and onward towards their eleventh studio album.

THE SHEEPDOGS Announce North American Tour Dates

THE SHEEPDOGS Announce North American Tour Dates This Fall

New Album Future Nostalgia Out October 2 via Dine Alone Records

[iframe id="https://www.youtube.com/embed/-uJ1tfEk2uU"]

Following a string of festival appearances over the summer, The Sheepdogs will embark on an extensive North American tour beginning in September and making stops in Austin, Los Angeles, Chicago, Denver, Nashville and more.

The Sheepdogs remain steadfast in their commitment to rock n' roll excellence with their third album Future Nostalgia out October 2, 2015 via Dine Alone Records. Since their inception, the band has always sought to play the kind of music they themselves love: "Pure, simple, good-time music," as singer/guitarist Ewan Currie puts it. It's no surprise, then, that the album is firmly rooted in the rock tradition that listeners have come to expect from the boys.

Pre-order the album on iTunes HERE,

and can also pre-order bundles including merch on www.thesheepdogs.com.

Formed in Saskatoon, The Sheepdogs have followed in the footsteps of Canadian rock legends including Neil Young, The Band and The Guess Who with a bold take on classic guitar rock and polished retro sound. The band came into the national spotlight in 2011 as the first unsigned band to appear on the cover of Rolling Stone, which led to a performance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and a special appearance on Project Runway. A live favorite, The Sheepdogs have played at numerous festivals and headlining tours across North America, including performances at Bonnaroo, Coachella, Lollapalooza, opening for the likes of Kings of Leon and John Fogerty, and sharing the stage with Jason Sudeikis, Will Forte and Justin Long at Stones Fest. For their last self-titled LP, The Sheepdogs worked with Patrick Carney of The Black Keys to produce the collection, which debuted at No. 1 on the Canadian Top 200 SoundScan Chart, and garnered three No. 1 singles. The band has also won four JUNO awards, and been nominated for seven over their impressive career.

The Sheepdogs are Ewan Currie (lead vocal/guitar), Ryan Gullen (bass/vox), Sam Corbett (drums/vox), Shamus Currie (keys/horns) and Rusty Matyas (guitar/vox).
