"The Youth To Become is a powerful demonstration of what's possible when talent meets dedication. A record of poise and punch, Stories' debut full-length is the sound of five young men rewriting the rules of heavy music.

Led by Morgan Dodson, Stories have created a record that aches with taut pressure. The Youth To Become is a caustic blast of energy created by Dodson, his guitarist brother Nic, guitarist Sean Young, bassist Luke Fuller and drummer Roscoe Frazier who draws influence from post-hardcore, metal, alternative and progressive rock, but never dwells too long on a particular style. And considering they were discovered by Northlane guitarist Josh Smith, who nurtured them from an early stage, that scope makes sense.

With two brothers guiding the creative process - Nic writes the music and Morgan the lyrics - Storieshave evolved into one of the most exciting young heavy bands in the world. "Because we're brothers, we tend to be on the same sort of track with a lot of our opinions and feelings," explains Morgan. "This has been the case since I can remember. Since we started writing The Youth To Become, our bond has certainly strengthened more and more, and I definitely feel like we make a good team when working anything creative together."

Today, Stories reveal the first single from the album 'Under Haze.' Morgan explains the track: "Being the last song we wrote on the album, it took little pieces from each stretch of the record and came together with a pretty dark vibe. We knew right from when we wrote it that it would be a cool song for people to hear first. Lyrically, I feel like I created a strong sense of imagery with this track, and it parallels with the high energy of the sounds."

NEUROSIS Begins Major North American Tour

As their thirtieth anniversary creeps ever closer late in 2015, NEUROSIS will this week embark on their most massive North American tour since before the turn of the millennium, as the sixteen-city expedition kicks off tomorrow, Friday, July 31st.

The forceful aural surge of NEUROSIS will be felt through a deluge of performances which are set to take place in sixteen cities across America and Canada over the next three weeks. Support for NEUROSIS will include the thunder of labelmates Brothers Of The Sonic Cloth (featuring Tad Doyle of TAD and Hog Molly) for the entire trek, with additional legs of the tour also featuring nomadic doomsday cult, The Body, expansive rock duo, Sumac (members of Baptists, Old Man Gloom, ex-Isis, etc.), doom/rock experimenters Pinkish Black and blues/rock-driven labelmates Iron Tongue. NEUROSIS will also perform at the immense Montréal Festival where they'll join the likes of Mastodon, Meshuggah, Gorguts and many others on August 7th.

Since the release of their 1987 debut LP, Pain Of Mind, NEUROSIS has increasingly developed into a more potent and prolific act with each new recording and tour. Through releases on Alchemy, Lookout!, Alternative Tentacles, Relapse, Hydra Head and more -- before forming their own Neurot Recordings which houses all of their recordings since the beginning of the millennium -- the band has become a genre-defining institution of heavy music. The Oakland, California natives have broken ground at every turn, pioneering a sound that influenced heavyweights including Isis, Mastodon and High On Fire and inspiring endless legions of fans with their expansive, mind-altering works, as well as forming their own solo outfits and touring acts outside of NEUROSIS.

In 2012, NEUROSIS released Honor Found In Decay, recorded by Steve Albini at Electrical Audio and mastered by John Golden of Golden Mastering, the album showcasing the band taking their esoteric but leveling and hymns to even further diversified areas of exploration. Following the album's hometown release show, they disbanded with the backdrop visuals that had accompanied their live set nearly since inception, empowering their anthems in a drastically more human approach. Since the album's release, NEUROSIS has been heavily proactive tour-wise, embarking on regional bouts of touring and taking part in high-profile one-off and festival events throughout North America and Europe. And the cycle shall continue through the remainder of 2015 and onward towards their eleventh studio album.

Windhand (Q&A Interview)

Windhand is bringing the heavy to the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco this Wednesday the 11th, with Kvelertak and High On Fire. Their new album Soma, (Relapse Records) is a monster--A supremely heavy and dark album of tone and general face-melting. We’re had a quick Q&A session with Parker Chandler, Bassist of Windhand to talk about the album & the tour.

Their second album, Soma, (Relapse Records) was recorded and mixed by the band’s own Garrett Morris at The Darkroom and mastered by James Plotkin in their hometown, of Virginia, VA. All music by Windhand is available directly from Relapse Records and on iTunes, Amazon and everywhere you buy music.
